Hi, can anyone recommend a hotel about 1000/1200 baht a night with a decent breakfast near the Empress hotel thanks.

check agoda, search for Chiang Mai, narrow your search to "Empress Hotel", open the map on the empress lisiting, then you will find plenty of other hotels in the vicinity, just click on them to get details

Then check Tripadvisor to see how good the breakfast is. They're mostly dog eared Asian fare.

Having said that, there are plenty of eateries in that area.

Yeah, sh*tty dog eared Asian fare! The white guys demand MEAT. However, the dog eared Asian girls are OK.

As for the breakfast buffet at the Empress, I've found that, in addition to some Asian dishes, there are plenty of international foods as well to select from. You won't go away hungry.

I have looked recently and can not find a one

As i will need a Hotel close to the Empress

I will use them as they are close to where i need to be for a few days

Even with it being off season

Unless you go for a guest house

Even then you will not get much for breakfast.

but certainly no decent Western BF-buffet there.

If you don't have a duty during daytime, get up late and rather have the lunch buffet at the Empress.a bit more costly but the buffet is quite popular (albeit far from sensational), with many Western options. Not sure how much they charge nowadays though....
