Why do you read the topics here and why do you reply?

Me:

- to get different views/opinions about Thailand

- if somebody needs advise and I can help

- to know that I am not the only one who see some issues

- to express that I am actually happy here and grateful for it

- let steam off

- my only place with non Thai social contacts

And I like sarcasm...

It's Sunday. Besides I need a break now & then from reading things such as the Supreme Court ruling 3 days ago in the US on Obama's Affordable Care Act:

http://www.supremecourt.gov/opinions/14pdf/14-114_qol1.pdf

C'mon you post also Monday's,Tuesday's,Wednesday....

You're right but today is Sunday so some things are not as active as during the week. The UN Geneva goes into session tomorrow so I will be monitoring the stream broadcast for the next week or so. The EU Parliament convenes July 6-9 in Strasbourg. So what do you with your time? ThaiVisa provides a bit of a diversion for that kinda stuff.

When I first got involved and fall in love with a Thai lady, I realized that Thailand was going to be a big part of my future and endeavored to learn all I could about Thailand. On that respect TVF was invaluable

. In the process i discovered that it was also entertaining

. Regardless of whether I agree with many posters and their opinions , many of them are "good guys" and when ever I see their avatar I make sure to read their reply or OP,

and take extra delight to show them how they are wrong, So Very Very Wronglaugh.png

It can be instructional - illuminating - witty - fun - thought provoking - sad - embarrassingly stupid - offer hope - showcase the hopeless & helpless as well as the helpful - allow the ability to share + possibility to help/guide - give exposure to lessons learned by others - offer an online community with semi-known personalities and their souls - and it's entertaining......

Most of my time is spent around Thais and sometimes a diversion is very welcome......

I dont think so,

If Greece was allowed to exit, it will telegraph the fact that the EU is not permanent, and if there is one thing that markets don't like, is Uncertainty. If we look at history , no state was ever allowed to leave a Union, with out that Union denigrating.

at the very worst I think they will negotiate a special arrangement until they get there ship in order.

I think Greece is engaging in a game of brinkmanship , to get the best possible deal. Unless their economy is not grown, their debt is unsustainable, and Austerity does not provide for an internal stimulus for growth. If austerity is implemented, stimulus has to be external.

On the other hand the EU has to be very careful on the number of concessions toward Greece, hence there is a stampede for other countries to renegotiate there position. A difficult situation to say the least.

I do lots on Twitter. Trying to say what needs to be said in 140 characters is a challenge. Why many of my posts here are brief as well. (137 characters)

I like to read some guys post just because they seem so well versed in some subjects I get a lot of useless but good info and history lessons also.

I like to be heard and in a forum unless mods delete my posts I am heard.

I like sarcasm too.

I (nearly) only reply to posts spreading false, ultra negative, surrealistic, or totally misleading information about Thailand Elite... And I do that for the sole reason that I reaaaaally don't like these types of posts being left unchallenged.

I guess other people do the same for other topics.

To everyone his speciality ;)

But I must say that my main reason for me to drop by this forum is to get the English news.

By reading the news on TV, I have the (false) feeling that I don't sponsor The Nation by clicking on their website link ;)

Also, Thaivisa is a successful business (in a way, and proportionally), so, each visit helps the owners.

Being a pro-entrepreneurship, I am happy that my visits (and posts) contribute to their success.

You're right-- it's 136 because I forgot to change the number when editing 'too' to 'to'.
