You should be able to get it directly from Adobe website. They are pushing the CC version, but still have the standalone version available at the bottom of the page (USD149) http://www.adobe.com/products/photoshop-lightroom/versions.html

Thanks, for some reason I was unable to find that....such is their campaign to get you on C/Cloud.

I've been familiarising myself with L/R now for several months and feel ready to change from Aperture in the next few days.... I don't reckon a pirate copy will do........so hopefully Adobe will take my card!

You are welcome. I remember I was sold to better post processing, when I saw others improving their photo quality with LR.

If you need help and or ask questions, we have quite a few lightroom users talking on Photo forums. http://www.thaivisa.com/forum/forum/179-photography-equipment-tools/ Join in.

The stand alone version did not seem to come with the new haze removal tool, you might want to download these presets. http://petapixel.com/2015/06/24/this-preset-pack-brings-real-dehaze-to-lightroom-6-1/

Yes- I'll check out the add-ons after I get.....

I've used Aperture for years and am "qualified" in Photoshop ( Idid a course back in UK) and have years of experience with that, but due to the imminent demise of my beloved Aperture I decided to migrate.

It's bee a long process as the Aperture/L-R migrate add-on didn't want to know my 49000 photos. So I've re-catalogued the lot manually...which actually has proved very interesting as I've found all sorts of stuff I'd forgotten about. It's also got me familiar with the various aspects of L/R as I play about on the way.....

The main thing I like about Lightroom is that the editing seems much stronger than on Aperture and i can pull stuff out I never knew was there before without having to permanently change the images as I used to with photoshop....which I hardly ever did anyway.

Don't forget you can always utilize a VPN service to get around the odd geo-location constraint for some purchases. Usually, all you need it the license, and can download the installer most anywhere (by almost anywhere, you should still only download ISO Images from trusted sites).
