I was referring to your comment on banning motorbikes sarcastically. as it, like banning rice, will never happen. Yes, I know how much natural sugar is in rice, and how it breaks down in the body, as it's learned at a very young age when you're into nutrition, and that it shouldn't be eaten by people who have diabetes but in small quantities, but people like to eat rice, and drive scooters, and many can't afford otherwise, especially here. Rice, white, is the most easily digestible grain, which makes it ideal for those with gastro issues. It is healthier eaten without the bran and germ removed, but that takes quite a long time to cook, and Thais aren't anything but quick cookers that aren't as concerned with more fiber but quick meals. Back home, I eat brown rice more, as it's a healthier choice.
