90 day report by mail AFTER airport arrival: receipt and address

Recommended Posts

HI

I am under the impression that airport arrival from abroad (BKK not CNX) serves as a report to Immigration, and the 90 day clock starts from that day.

However, by mail, one is required to submit the last 90-day report original receipt (see Tywais' excellent list below). Airport immigration didn't give me one, so what to do in this case?

ALSO, what about the address? My report will be due October 1. Send to present address or a new one at Promenada Mall?

Thanks all

You can apply up to 15 days before and 7 days after reporting date except for mail in which can not be late.

Photocopy the following documents:

Passport Copies - all pages signed

  • Passport page with photo
  • Date of Arrival (Last Entry Stamp)
  • Permit to Stay Up Until (Last Visa Stamp or Extension)
  • TM.6 (Arrival/Departure Card)
  • Last receipt of Notification (Original)
  • Completed form TM 47 NOTE: This is a CM specific form (tm47-CM 2014.doc) (tm47-CM 2014.pdf) (Also Main Immigration Download Page)

There is no fee or charges of any kind for 90 day address reporting other then if you are late.

Send these documents to the following address:

You should still have previous report receipt - you submit that - copies of passport and TM47 information will show the new arrival date. You are aware that this process is going on-line so that should also be an option. Do not believe address has been changed for mailing so better to cross that bridge later.

If you fly in the clock starts again, the old 90 day report you can trow away.

Just make copy passport with your new arrival date.

i am due next month with the same problem , would love to know the new mailing address in case the online reporting not works.

Good luck.

Should be, "report every 90 days based on your TM.6 (Arrival/Departure Card)" ...as the count for the next 90 days starts again on your re-entry date.

I've seen many Immigration Officers remove a previous 90 day Report Receipt of Notification from a passport and throw it away as part of the check-out process.

The important piece of paper you want to keep track of is the Re-Entry Permit, if you want to keep your current extension of stay active.

Can I get confirmation that the mail in address is the same as before?

It certainly is, I got mine back today (it took about a week). I'm sure if it changes they'll update the pinned topic. Maybe they could put a note on the pinned topic to let people know that it is still the address to use.

Here is one curve ball I encountered at ThaiPost: They won't issue you a pre-paid stamp for the SASE, but will put a EMS sticker on it. You will need to manually write that one down, and then (at this PO) I went to the other counter and bought 37 THB in stamps and she affixed them to my SASE. Then I paid her another 37 THB, and got a receipt, with the outbound tracking number on it. I used a 20 x 15 envelope, so my stuff was folded in half, and return was slightly smaller, and just big enough to fit the new notification without it being folded. Someone else had told me they paid 104 THB, maybe that was for large envelope (like 30 x 25). I just checked the tracking, and it already has three entries.

My re-entry permits have been stamped on a passport page.. How could it be removed ??

“It worked for me last week.”

“Now, what about the address?

Where do I send it? To the old airport address or a different one?”

“That's what I used. That's the one on the pinned topic.”

So, should we like, send it to the Australian Embassy or the Bureau of Tourism or what?

To get back to the OP. I arrived back in the country at the Chiang Mai airport. I had a reentry card that I had filled out on the plane coming in they stapled it to my passport. My next 90 days is due 90 days after that date. I have since renewed my permission to stay and they stamped the new 90 day date on it for me.

So not to confuse any newbes, I think you meant you filled in the arrival/departure card (TM 6) on the plane and the departure part of it was stapled to your passport by incoming Immigration.

I've seen many Immigration Officers remove a previous 90 day Report Receipt of Notification from a passport and throw it away as part of the check-out process.

For the first time ever, that's exactly what they took from my passport when I left a few months ago. I returned several weeks ago and will have to do my next 90-day report in December (or, perhaps, in February if I take a jaunt over to Myanmar next month). I obviously won't have my last 90-day receipt/notice although I do happen to have a photo of it.

Question: When I do the next 90-day report (which I will do by mail), is there any need to send them a copy of the photo of the last 90-day receipt/notice or will they figure it out when they see the departure and entry stamps?

If you leave the country and enter again, the 90 days start from scratch. There is no need for an old report as you have the arrival card, that serves that purpose.

Subsequent 90 days reporting has to be done 90 days after reentry. Simple.

And don't mix up validity of visa/exemption with the 90 days. They run independently. Everybody makes that mistake once.
