BANGKOK: -- A member of the National Legislative Assembly (NLA) says the father of one of the 14 detained student activists has revealed that his son was brainwashed by a foreign organisation before having adopted anti government attitude.

Gen Tawatchai Samutsakon, former commander of the Second Army Region, and now a NLA member, said he met and talked to the father of a student activist who is a Surin resident yesterday.

The father told him that his son was taken out by a foreign organisation for two nights in a brainwashing session a month ago.

From that day his son has changed and turned to have adopted anti government attitude, he said.

The father also said he wanted bail for his son, he said.

He said he didn’t want to elaborate but confirmed such movement from foreign organisation happened frequently in Surin province, starting from Khon Kaen to other provinces in the Northeast.

Human rights watch would be my guess.

You may well be correct ... you only have to look at who the "Government" don't like, and that's who they'll be trying to discredit in the eyes of the Thai's on this one.

Probably, The UN.

The United Nations is a foreign organization who brainwashes Thai students.

The Dao Din group visited the UN Offices recently.

That nonsense would be believed by some.

The UN doesn't understand Thai-style Democracyfacepalm.gif

You would have to be brainwashed to go against tyrannical rule. Now lets find out who these brainwashers are and boot them out of the country! They'll be telling people they have human rights next - what an outrage

Oops...You forgot: "and paid by Thaksin"

I mean he pays millions of voters, so why not 14 more.

The only reason why voters don't buy into what the Bangkok-centric elite have to sell, is because Thaksin pays them not to. I mean whatever reason would they have otherwise. After all, they are the only one's endowed with enlightened Political Opinions. They are a cultivated and politically refined minority, and the electoral majority are all paid-for dolts devoid of political thought..........

Really!

First it was local politicians and now a foreign organization. Sounding desperate to blame anyone but the students. After all (according to the army and those that influence them) we all know that the common people can't think for themselves or be trusted to vote for a government.

Name them or it's just a red herring.

New to Thailand? Name someone and you are held for causing loss of face...true or not the

rules for slander are different, are they not?

The general has just confirmed - and I'm being generous here - that he's an imbecile. Brainwashed? Seriously? Who makes this garbage up day after day? Who in god's name is challenged enough to think that a conscious – even slightly world-wise – adult would believe any of it?

And yet not a day goes by without something of this ilk being touted to a world that simply scratches its head in disbelief that someone would actually say such a thing.

find them, check who finance them, seize their money. Cancel the visa of the foreigner and jail the thais...case finish...

Better yet, cast out all the foreign devils. Foreign teachers influencing their students to think for themselves, foreign businessmen teaching about foreign economic attitudes, NGOs helping the hill tribe people....who knows what new ideas are introduced and don't get me started on those foreign missionaries and their foreign ideas.

What a nonsense story.
"Taken out by a foreign organisation for two nights" - you don't know who they were or where your son went? Did they go to Cambodia for the casinos? Did he return with a probe in his butt?

I must say that it is some extremely effective brain washing if they only need two days to turn a person completely around. I am sure there would be a couple of government agencies out there who would love to learn the technique.
