Soldiers and volunteers injured in two separate bomb attacks in Pattani

PATTANI: -- Three soldiers and three defence volunteers were injured in two separate roadside bomb attacks in Khok Pho and Mayo districts of Pattani Wednesday morning.

The first attack happened in Khok Pho while a unit of soldiers was patrolling the road to provide protection for teachers in Moo 4 village at about 8 am.

A 15-kilo homemade bomb was detonated while the foot patrolmen walked pass.

Three soldiers were injured. They were later admitted to Khok Pho hospital.

Another bomb attack happened 40 minutes later in nearby Mayo district.

In this incident three of the six defence volunteers riding in three motorcycles were injured.

In the two cases, EOD police and fresh troop reinforcements were sent in to comb and hunt down the militants whom were believed to be guiding among local people in nearby villages.

Would these "fresh" troops be the same ones that can't find the thousands of illegal immigrants herded into human trafficking camps throughout South Thailand?
