School Fees - No discount despite joining half way through term

My kids are transferring to a school in Chiang Mai at the beginning of August but we've been told we gave to pay the full fees as if they started in May!

Despite my objections to this and trying to reason with them, they refused to discount the fees.

In other countries I've aced my kids in the fees would be pro-rated.

Is this normal practice for privately run schools? if so seems very unfair on us parents.

This is a bilingual school in CM
