An original letter of offer from Mahidol is required for the Thai Embassy in India. Apply for a Non-Immigrant ED visa. That visa can be extended for a year at a time in Thailand with the help and assistance of Mahidol.

IMHO, it depends on the field your want to pursue.

I guess that, for Mahidol U, you've got an offer from MUIC.

MUIC has some areas of study that SIIT does not offers, and vice versa.

For example, while SIIT offers a wide range of engineering programs MUIC doesn't has any of them.

But, at the same time, SIIT doesn't has any social science & humanities programs, while MUIC has plenty of them.

I guess (again) that your interest is science-related course.

if it's a pure science, I will go for MUIC

(Mahidol has a long reputation in medicine and natural science).

but if it's an applied science (or engineering), I will go for SIIT

(just look at its number of publications per faculty member).

In general, not specific to any faculty or department,

both universities (Mahidol and Thammasat) are very respectable in Thailand.

Both are state university with long history and reputation.

(Mahidol started from a medical school. while Thammasat, the 2nd oldest U in Thailand, started from a politics/law school. since then, both evolve and expand their academic offers n researches to many areas.)

So it just depends on your field of interest :D

Mahidol under any circumstances, just from the point of view it has name recognition. my two cent's....
