Hipefully you have an external mouse (USB or wireless) that you can use to get around, otherwise you'll wear out the TAB key.

Visit the Laptop manufacturer's website and see if there are any downloadable drivers for Win10, or Win8.1 (they might work with Win10).

Also, try googling the Make/Model of your Laptop with the words "Windwos 10" and "Touchpad" ...see what pops up.

A far fetched possibility might be to enter Win10 SETTINGS and remove the TouchPad drivers, reboot the system and see if Win10 will download a new one that works.

Might be a driver issue. At the Start menu type Device Manager and hit enter. Mice and pointing devices, open that and poke around. See if it is reporting as working properly.

If it isn't enabled, enable it.

While there make a note of what type/brand of touchpad it is. Mine is Synaptics and it's working fine.

It's possible you don't have a compatible driver (software to enable it.) In that case you'd need to go to the manufacturer's web site and find, download and install it. Still, touchpads usually have drivers imbedded in Windows so let's see...

Cheers.

I just checked Windows Update for 10 and there is a driver update for the Synaptics touch pad. Maybe that was their and your issue.

I'm downloading and installing it on my laptop even though mine is working.

Cheers.
