Microphone for Laptop

Featured Replies

I'm looking for a reasonable quality microphone for my laptop. I don't need anything to fancy but looking for recommendations of what to use and the best place to buy in CM.

Cheers

you could get a USB headset.....or USB Webcam with built-in microphone.

What sort of recording will you be doing? Is the mic for singing or just for speaking. If just for speaking, you can get a decent mic at any of the computer shops (200-300baht,) being sold for computer-to-computer conferencing. But if you need a mic for singing, you'll be better served by going to Amorn (cheap but effective mics,) or for MUCH better sound quality, to the sound recording shop on Changklan Rd, just about opposite the entrance to Chiangmai Land Rd.

If you have the 3.5mm jack; you can get one dirt cheap...If you rely on USB, it may be cheaper to get the headset (and your calls will work better), or the webcam. Here are some ideas....they range from 1-300 USD in the States, so use it as a guideline. My notebook only has the jack for headphones, but has a built in mic, I use teh speakers on my TV, which is already connected with HDMI, but there is some echo on calling, and the 190 THB headset I bought at ICON is working great, but it is one with two 3.5mm connectors...a Ker brand. The USB headsets start at 300ish...
