British National Killed in Sattahip Motorcycle Accident
For starters - look at the second picture. That is not a u-turn. That is the overpass that starts at the Boonthavorn shop (heading south towards Sattahip), about 3 kms before you get to the Highway 332 intersection. I just came back that way last night in fact, going the other way. (Just after the rain in Pattaya stopped and the flooding went down.) It appears that the one of the riders probably took the overpass lane and the other rider didn't realize it in time and tried to cut from the "old road" onto the overpass lane while speeding along and misjudged it, hitting the sign that points to the different lanes. This is the exact same overpass but heading North. Google's image of the North lanes is dated June 2024 but their image of the South lanes (the Boonthavorn side of the overpass where the accident happened) is dated Oct 2023 when construction was still ongoing. Both ends of the overpass are virtually identical though. Maybe they call it a "u-turn" as there is a u-turn under the middle of the overpass. -

Who said bars wernt making money?
Billabong sure sold a ton of beers this past sat night with every seat full and tables covered with beer bottles...seemed to be more gals than usual and lots of guys drinking the two beer minimum deal and buying even more for gals. It was a good night of revenue for sure. -

How do you pay?
I always carry a few thousand baht in cash with me, even though I normally pay my bills in supermarkets by scanning QR codes. However. Twice this week, Makro and Tops, those QR codes would not work, (This payee cannot currently receive payment. Or something like that), and I had to pay in cash. Also this week I did some haggling for cash and got over 40% reduction in price. I knew they were asking far too much (THB110), as I currently had the same things on order on Lazada for THB40. Cash is still king in my book. I don't know how true this is, but my GF told me there are always problems paying by QR codes at the end of the month in Makro. -

It's less than a month till the US election!
One interesting angle is the status of the campaign organizations of the two candidates. Harris has built the largest campaign organization in US history, with hundreds of thousands of volunteers. Trump decided to use outside organizations for his ground game. The two principal organizations, Turning Point USA, and Elon Musk's superPAC are responsible for GOTV operations. Charlie Kirk's Turning Point was responsible for Michigan, but is backing out in favor of Elon. Meanwhile, Elon's PAC fired their canvasser company, and is going with a new group. The canvassers are focused on infrequent voters, a unique approach in Presidential politics. Meanwhile, the Harris canvassers are out in droves. We'll see which approach works.- 1

Thai gov. to tax (remitted) income from abroad for tax residents starting 2024 - Part II
I will probably do the same but wont pay tax, it just keeps the i's dotted and the t's crossed and avoids potential downstream issues. I mean, it's only 15 minutes of my life, I waste longer than that, trying to decide what I'm going to do that day! -
