The OP wants a family friendly Bar, Yep that will really work. Good luck as the ones who are not restrictive are having a hard time unless they sell girls. You going to sell girls?

Posted

Most places only rent them out, not sell them, but I see your point.

"Central Bangkok", any chance of being more specific? It's not the Bull & Bear in 33/1 is it?

Which floor will house the boxing ring?

That's not a bad idea actually. There could be a fight club in the basement, but the first rule is we cant talk about it.

You could name it The Bad Idea Bar....and place price tags on all the items you will be trying to sell before taking them to auction.

Ref my previous post Bull & Bear should read Bull & Bush, sorry about that.

OP lost interest already?

I wish you luck on this idea...

If it were me, 1st floor would be a coffee shop/cafe, with free wifi and light food - morning and day trade.

2nd floor would be more sports bar with TV's with more pub food - morning and day trade

Rooftop would be more traditional bar with no food - night trade.

I doubt I would ever go there. I would never be a member of a club that would allow someone like me to me a member.

First floor sports bar, second level artists bar, third level family restaurant bar with booths each one different style booths ,car style, boat style ,plane style etc what ever inspires.. Rooftop fine dining with live music.

But I ain't going to cook there..

Krissy check out the Sofitel So in BKK you can get a few ideas from them.

You should also consider appropriate transportation such as a baht bus fleet...

It's going to be open to members from the commonwealth only.

You're the exception cc, and Dal.

I like the thought of an old style club. Bottles in private lockers. Regular members. A quiet zone. No bargirls.

If they let TVF members in, it will be on every floor, in the lift, down the fire escape and in the toilets, as you can see from some of the posts here, mate!

Regional themes:

Southern Beach

Central Lights

A Touch of Issan

Personally I think this idea is a winner.

What ever you do please have a selection of fine malt?

I'm fed up going to bars and the only choice is Johnnie Walker or Chivas. A few nice Speyside malts will be just the ticket. Maybe a couple from the islands for those that like to drink peat.

Coke at each table in silver salvers....a carvery on a Sunday....proper Cuban cigars on the balcony....tanks rolling down the street outside....gunshots....dusky young girls roaming around....latino music...dancing at all hours...all free and easy....oh yeah...

Now the Reef's shut up shop, you might be able to get Tom Jones on a Friday night.

It was a bit of a dive, but the friendliest pub in the neighbourhood

It would not be complete without a short time room.

What exactly is a short time room,

You have over 1000 posts and you do not know what a short time room is?

Pull the other one.

Thank You for noticing my 1000+ post count. If anything is getting pulled I generally pay others for that service.
