By NICK PERRY

WELLINGTON, New Zealand (AP) — If a wing fragment found in the western Indian Ocean turns out to be part of missing Flight 370, experts say, there are probably other pieces of the aircraft that floated off rather than sinking to the bottom of the ocean. Finding them remains the hard part.

JSCCIB wants export promotion board revived to boost Thai exports

BANGKOK, 5 August 2015 (NNT)-The Joint Standing Committee on Commerce, Industry and Banking (JSCCIB) has proposed the revival of the export promotion board to boost Thai exports to the global market.

The JSCCIB has resolved in its recent meeting that the revival would be necessary to improve the export sector that has already been in decline for nearly 3 consecutive years.

The board, which would be presided over by the Prime Minister, would play an important role in solving export issues and promoting export products in 12 clusters such as automobiles, gems and jewelry, food, construction and health and beauty.

Thailand’s export volume has declined by 4.8% during the first half of this year. The JSCCIB has also proposed that the government terminate value added tax collections on certain raw materials and impose tax exemption on income transmitted from investments abroad to help manufacturers cope with rising production cost.

Aside from selling grasshoppers for cash, locals also use the insect as the main ingredient in a few local dishes. Vendors sell these dishes at around 30 - 40 baht per plate.
