NeverSure
There's nothing I hate worse than corrupt safety rollers. Oh wait. That wasn't the problem?
Bulldozer Dawn
Remember the movie Jurassic Park. The park had cars on a monorail system and could not stray off. That is the only type of system that will improve road safety here.
BigBadGeordie
Corruption, government officials, personal gain, Pattaya. Don't believe a word of it! Meanwhile back at the beach, lot's of tourists are having fun on a jet-ski.

Don Mega
"However, somebody had tried to push the project forward until the budget was approved. Had tried ?..... seems the push was successful as they were installed a few weeks ago on a corner that would have exactly zero pedestrians that need protection. balo
Safety rollers would cost maybe 1 million baht if they are produced in Thailand, so where did 9 million go ?

ksamuiguy
Interesting idea, but seems no more effective than normal guard rails, except that it seams to prevents additional damage to the vehicle. Look at the video, looks like a maintenance nightmare if hit.
Lupatria
Here, even the purchase of a dozen knitting needles for a home of the elderly would turn into a corruption case.
laocowboy2
It would be a lot quicker just to feature contracts where there is NO evidence of corruption of 'expensive' pricing. Save you a lot of posting and us a lot of reading time.
EnglishJohn
How come we never read stories about officials getting sent to prison for corruption ?. Does it never happen or do the lousy Thai press never bother to report it ?.

Emster23
I guess the plan to replace all the autos with bumper cars was voted down then.... I am so tempted to mention driver training, vehicle upkeep, police enforcement.... "to dream the impossible dream....."
Ulic
No need to spend money on driver training or pedestrian safety in Thailand. Google will take cake of it all in a couple of years.

rakman
That looks like it would be fun. Take an old car and slide along it on a glancing blow, ride the rollers. Then charge tickets.. money maker.
