BANGKOK: -- Four traffic policemen saved Mother's Day by taking on a midwife’s duty and delivering healthy male baby yesterday in the Ratchathewi district.

Led by Bangkok’s famous “officer mom” Mana Jokkoksong, the policemen rushed to a home on Payathai Road yesterday after receiving a call stating that a woman had gone into labor and it was simply too late to take her to hospital.

Officer Mana, who said last year he delivered a total of 47 babies by himself, along with three other personnel who received midwife training, helped Sirinan Ngamkaew, 20, safely give birth to an adorable baby boy.

Well done, RTP team. The bashers will be along shortly no doubt.

I may think twice about using the "The wife is in Labor and we must get to the hospital" excuse next time I get caught speeding!

It seems that the Thai Basher Bashers came along first !...

Well done on the RTP guys for taking responsibility at a critical time...

Well done guys! Good to see something positive...

but you're not pointing at the suspect!!

Where was the miracle.....they didn't ask for tea money. Well done anyway.

Must be a daily occurrence with the traffic around here. My average speed from work today was 1.3km/h on a 2.2km stretch.

Bravo for a job well done. Kept helmet on too. Surprised the woman did not snap a selfie mid-labour.
