I need to synch my wife's iPhone to iTunes on a new computer

When I try and do this I'm getting a message something like "this device is already synced to another version of iTunes, syncing to this iTunes will wipe the device"

Can I do an iCloud backup of the phone, sync it to the new computer (which will wipe it) and then restore the iCloud back up and continue syncing using the new computer? Or will doing the restore cause the phone to "forget" it has been synced with the new computer and bring up the wipe it message again?

All her photos are backed up so I think the only thing I really need to keep on there is all her line contacts, groups and chat histories so if there is a way to restore these after the wipe other than the iCloud back up I'm open to suggestions

Cheers

Thanks for the reply BV but that's not quite the scenario I'm looking at unfortunately

I'm keeping the same device (iPhone) - I need to sync it with iTunes on a new computer

iTunes will only allow an iPhone to be synced with one computer - if you try to sync it with a different computer the new computer will force you to clear everything off the iPhone first :(

register Line account with email and login after you change device. All contacts will be intact, but chat log would be deleted.

There is an option to backup line chats, don't know how that works though...

Or you can use alternative itunes program like synciOS (windows) or ecoute (mac) to manage your iphone backups...

You can sync iPhone data to iTunes on computer .One, you need to enable iPhone connect your computer. Two, download iTunes and install iTunes on your computer . Three, open the File menu and select Devices in the menu. Four, you can easy to transfer iPhone data .

Thanks for the reply

The iPhone is already synced this way to iTunes one computer

If you try and sync to iTunes on a second computer the second computer wants to wipe your iPhone first as you can only be synced to one computer at a time - this is the issue I am trying to overcome
