Australian Father Hires Former Commando’s to Grab his Daughter in Thailand

QUEENSLAND – A heartbroken Australian father took the astonishing step of turning to a team of former special forces soldiers to find his daughter who was taken out of the country to Thailand.

Stuart Dempster, from Brisbane, Queensland, was distraught when his ex-wife disappeared with his little girl and he faced a two-year battle to try to have his daughter, Natasha, returned.

Increasingly frustrated that his efforts to bring the now seven-year-old home through government agencies, Mr Dempster decided he needed to take more drastic measures.

He enlisted the help of a specialised organisation, made up of a group of ex-soldiers, to bring her back from Thailand.

‘After each failed attempt, I just kept saying “I can’t give up, she’s too precious”,’ Mr Dempster told Daily Mail Australia. ‘I would have done anything for her, as any parent would for their child.’

Stuart Dempster, from Brisbane, Queensland, was distraught when his ex-wife disappeared with his little girl and he faced a two-year battle to try and have his daughter, Natasha, returned.

In January 2013, the Scottish-born hurdling coach who now lives in Queensland was shocked when he came home to find his home empty and his wife and daughter gone.

You are right we just don't know and a Court should decide. For a Thai to 'escape' a farang in farangland and all those benefits there must be two sides to the story. Most Thais are DESPERATE to get into farangland not out.

So the Thai wife does the usual by seizing the child and absconding bringing her back to la la land for its wonderful upbringing and education with no regard for the law. The father rectifies the situation and grabs her back and the numpties on here are criticizing him. For those who are siding with a Thai woman who has shown her contempt for the law and her family you should be ashamed. Good on the guy, I am sure thousands sympathies and would like to have done the same. The woman clearly has no regard for the wellbeing of her daughter pandora is your typical selfish Thai.

You are right. And that's why the legal system should have been used in this case, rather than just doing a runner with the child. Australia has great protection services for abused family members. Doesn't look like this lady took advantage of them. Just ran. Not the right way to sort this out. And 100% illegal.

Sad the Thai authorities wouldn't help out...even if nothing else, just to investigate.

Anyone who trusts the Thai courts to do the right thing, especially where a farang is involved...

At least the child is in Australia which has the rule of law. I expect Australia to get involved at least in an overview. I'd hate to have any child of mine in a remote village in Thailand with no recourse to real courts. I like things the way they are until Australia says something different.
