NLA to hold public forums for residents of Ayutthaya, Ang Thong and Sing Buri

BANGKOK, 2 September 2015 (NNT) – Members of the National Legislative Assembly are scheduled to visit residents of a number of central provinces to meet local people this coming weekend.


The NLA is inviting the residents of Ayutthaya, Ang Thong and Sing Buri to take part in the “NLA Members Meet the People” event which will take place on September 5th and 6th.

The event has been planned to enable NLA members to hear first hand the problems faced by local people and to discuss them with state agencies from all three provinces.

The issues expected to be discussed include the flood problem, the drought problem, traffic problems and issues related to tourism income, as well as environmental troubles caused by industrial plants in provincial areas.

Interested residents can choose to attend the meeting on Saturday at 9.15 am at Paiboon Restaurant in Sing Buri province, or at 2 pm at Anything Patthamaroj Witthayakhom School in Ang Thong.

Meanwhile, the meeting in Ayutthaya is scheduled for Sunday at 2 pm at Rajamangala University of Technology Suvarnabhumi.

Phuket to host new Thailand Yacht Show

PRD Music in the Garden on Thursday

BANGKOK, 2 September 2015, (NNT) – The 42d Music in the Garden event, organized by the Public Relations Department (PRD) is set for Thursday 3rd September, to bring happiness to the people through fun and soothing songs performed by two well known artists: Orawan Visetpong and Wor Watchaya.


The two prolific singers will be performing their iconic songs such as ‘Nee Rak’, ‘Rak Toramarn’, ‘Pu Klong Rak’ along with their other timeless hits. Several of the PRD’s star artists will be joining them as well.

The audience will certainly be treated to a spectacular show, in which the artists will enchant the audience with their distinctive singing throughout the evening.

The event will as usual be held at the PRD Conference Hall in Soi Areesampan, Rama 6 Road, Phayathai District, Bangkok; beginning at 4 pm. Thursday. Admission to the concert is free of charge.

British Man Rescued from Manhole

An unidentified British business manager was left chest-deep in much after he fell down this uncovered sewer hole late last night north of Bangkok in Pathum Thani.

PATHUM THANI — A 46-year-old British national had to be rescued after falling into an uncovered sewer hole last night in northern metropolitan Bangkok.

Don Mueang Airport launches emergency drills

BANGKOK, 2 September 2015 (NNT) – Don Mueang International Airport has carried out emergency drills to keep its staff prepared for unexpected situations.


Airport staff of all divisions were to undergo mock critical cases such as discovery of a bag containing improvised explosives, evacuation of passengers and shop operators to a pre-determined assembly point and relocation of the bomb to the disposal area.

Wing Commander Songsak Tongtang, general manager of Don Mueang said the drills were divided into partial scale emergency and full-scale types. The partial scale exercise is conducted every six months, while the full-scale one is conducted every two years in line with the requirements of the Department of Civil Aviation and the suggestions of the International Civil Aviation Organization. Both are meant to ensure confidence of airport users in its safety.

The drills were observed by several agencies, such as the Royal Thai Air Force, of the Department of Civil Aviation and the Counter Terrorist Operations Center.

Sa Kaeo steps up security in border region after bomb suspect arrested

BANGKOK, 9 August 2015 (NNT) - Police and military officers in Sa Kaeo province have maintained strict controls in border zones to prevent instigators of violence from escaping from the country. The provincial governor has instructed community leaders in the border zones to inspect the suspicious people who had entered their villages.


The officers have patrolled the border areas in Aranyaprathet district and set up check points there. Pictures of the suspects and those with an arrest warrants in the Ratchaprasong bombing case have been put up in various locations along the border after one of the suspects was arrested on Tuesday while trying to escape to the neighboring Cambodia.

Sa Kaeo Governor Phakharathon Thianchai on Wednesday traveled to a security check point in Aranyaprathet and instructed security officers to strictly monitor the border zones. He also asked village headmen and community leaders to keep an eye on strangers and immediatly alert the authorities if they found a suspicious person.
