I've ordered from iHerb often but not within the last six months so was concerned about delivery because many people have complained about Thai customs problems. A short time ago I had a delayed-by-customs package at the CM Airport although not from iHerb but from Amazon. Anyway, I'm happy to report my iHerb package was delivered quicky, within 8 days, to my post office box without any additional cost. The order contained two bottles of vitamins and total was $51.23. Shipping was cheaper than usual, only $3.

Got one parcel from them about 2 months ago, delivered by the mailman. No problems.

But keep in mind that vitamins and all this stuff are actually controlled things, so customs can confiscate it if they like.

No, that's not true. And besides iHerb.com has an agreement with the Thai government. They absolutely will not confiscate your order as long as the value is USD $50.00 or less. They are concerned about people re-selling so are leery of large orders.

I have had two problem-free deliveries within the last 18 months.

You may refer to the customs website: http://www.customs.go.th/wps/wcm/connect/custen/traders+and+business/prohibited+and+restricted+items/general+prohibitions+and+restrictions/generalprohibitionsandrestrictions

How many orders have you placed?

I doubt that they make deals with particular companies like iHerb.

I believe they had a deal when I first started using them. I have used them give or take ten times. Had to pay duty on a $79 U. S. order and 9 baht more for stamps on another one also one 11 baht short. No problem with that just

gave it to the delivery man. I try to keep mine in the 40 to 50 $U.S.range.

It's nice to know that iHerb shipments of under $50 are delivered without problem but that a low limit on the duty-free allowment. Here in Japan under 16,500 yen is duty-free! That's about $132 US.

I Regularly order from Iherb and any package under $70 gets by customs without charges or confiscation; even when I have Vitamin D3 or Bcomplexs in there which is supposed to be confiscated. Sometimes I have to pay 7 baht for some reason for the package from my apartment. The supplements, powders, etc, here are much more expensive, and of dubious quality, compared to the best brands which are available on Iherb. If anyone wishes to order from the site I can provide a coupon code for $5-$10 off an order, which will pay for shipping and then some. Can PM me here to prevent any sort of public spam, but this code is available from all Iherb customers.

Again, the Thai government does not mind people making orders of legal supplements for personal consumption. As such they have an agreement with iherb.com (as told to me by the company).

Their concern is people re-selling the supplements without paying import taxes. They would consider US $132.00 to be beyond the limits for personal use and would impose import duty on the order.

Yes , but why would you buy them from the US?

Thailand has plenty of herbal capsules available for a cheaper price , both in pharmacies and special vitamin shops.

One example: Curcumin I pay 90 baht for 100 capsules ( $ 2.50) in Thailand while iherb sell them for up to $10 for 100 capsules.

So you are all wasting your money .

Actually Thailand produce a lot of vitamin and herbal capsules , the quality seem to be just as good,

No that is not correct. Thailand's prices for supplements are very high. It is MUCH cheaper to buy from iherb.com

You are going to the wrong places then. I pay 90 baht for garlic, 90 baht for turmeric, 150 baht for ginseng/gingko biloba etc.

I just checkedd iHerb and they are 5 times more expensive. The herbal capsules are locally produced in Thailand.

IHerb carries items unavailable here, or at least I haven't been able to find them in CM. For example, large flake nutritional yeast which is high in B vitamins, specifically thiamin and B12. Have been mixing several tablespoons of the stuff in my morning juice for many years. And my latest purchase was supplements to hopefully slow my aging short term memory--Huperzine-A and Jarrow Formula Neuro Optimizer. I've only been taking them for two days so don't see any difference. Am disappointed--was hoping they'd have an Albert Einstein effect. Only kidding...actually I'll be surprised at any change but thought I'd give it a try.

I agree they have special items, just the common vitamin and herbs theres no need to order it from abroad. Also there is an import company based in Phuket you can find a lot of stuff, like imported brazil nuts , yeast etc but I forgot their name. Just trying to save money Im on a budget.

When first searching for nutritional yeast, I tried the Phuket site (also forgot the name) but they didn't carry it. Am surprised by iHerbs low shipping cost--seems unbelievable that my items arrived in about a week for only $3. Amazon and the mailing company I often use, Shipito, charge a lot more and delivery time is the same or longer. My orders for nutritional yeast, usually 4 bags at a time, are heavier packages but still, iHerb only charges $5 shipping.

Anyway, I dislike dragging my body around in the heat so prefer online shopping although must give up my Amazon habit--Thailand delivery is much too expensive.

Thailand restricts the dosage of most supplements to almost useless.

Try finding co enzyme q10 for example, above 30 mg.

I grow garlic and turmeric in my garden. Ginseng of any use is quite expensive, even here.

I don't need to read the website. They have an agreement with i herb.com.

Right, Thai customs in Chiang Mai have an individual agreement with an american drug company that ships prohibited goods :)

They DO have an agreement, that's why the shipping costs will never be more than $4 US.

iherb.com has a HUGE presence in Thailand.

Thailand's prices for supplements are far more expensive than in Europe or America. not sure what you are on about. wasting money? tell that to the thousands of Thais who order from iherb.com because prices are so much cheaper. in our house we order Zinc, Vitamin C, B-complex, Omega fish oil capsules, Biotin, Co-Q 10, Garcinia and on and on. nowhere in Thailand can you find prices better than on that website. for example Co-Q 10 is only sold in 20 mg. (maybe 50 mg.?) capsules here and the adult dose is 100-120 mg. a bottle of 100 X 120 mg. capsules cost less than 50 X 50 mg. here! some things we get here and they are very cheap like Brewers yeast, B-12 (sublingual difficult to get here).

ever checked prices for 1000 mg. Vitamin C here? a bottle of 500 X 1000 mg. Kirkland brand (USA) costs US $9.99!

postage is so cheap from iherb.com that it would cost as much if not more to get in the car and shop for them in Thailand! and, they always give free stuff (last order i got 2 free bottles of Garcinia) and free post.
