TRANG: -- Most parts of Trang province are still covered with forest fire smoke believed blown across the country from Indonesia’s Sumatra province for the second day in a row on Thursday.

Reports from this southern province famous for its tourist attractions and roasted pork said that several motorists and motorcyclists had to switch on their headlights for safety as visibility has been affected.

Many residents have complained of the smell of the smoke although there is no report yet of anyone becoming sick from the forest fire smoke.

However, precautions have been taken by health conscious residents who voluntarily reduce their outdoor activities. The number of visitors to parks has also reduced substantially.

I'm told that the heavy rain has solved the problem for the moment! thumbsup.gifwai.gif

So foggy in Songkhla you can't see the horizon out to sea from the beach.

It was so smoky a couple of days ago that the mountains about 2km east were totally invisible...and even the lights on the telecom towers were invisible that evening.

As noted above...no smoky smell, though.
