Could possibly have been space junk,

i.e the remains of an old satellite or rocket parts?

But NASA usually tracks and reports any large objects likely to cause damage on the ground.

It would be interesting to see video taken from other provinces to see what the angle of approach was and the direction it was headed.

All depends on the position of the viewer. (see previous reports)

In Bangkok it appears to be almost 90 degrees but from another viewpoint it could have been much less than 90 degrees.

Meteorites approaching the earth at 90 degrees usually burn up in the upper atmosphere or way before they become visible.

So if this one was entering the atmosphere at about 90 degrees then it must have been fairly large to have penetrated so far before burning up and/or exploding.

Imagine getting hit by one of these objects while you're in passenger jet at 30,000 ft ?

And to make matters worse, it didn't get ATC clearance and was probably not equipped with TCAS.

In related news, the Royal Thai Air Force are asking the Military Government for an urgent additional budget of 40 billion Baht to make preparations against future intrusions from the air. The RTAF spokeman explained that the 40 billion Baht number is "reasonable, and is merely the same as the Navy's submarine request, and besides, it is the RTAF's turn".

So what's next?

ILM-War-of-the-Worlds-After-092310-PS.jp

This sort of thing is not set to happen for another year or two.

The Siren project and the big asteroid (or man rock), 2.5 kilometers wide is set to hit the same day, this September 23rd. Yes this year. In two weeks two days.

Don't laugh,, google it.

I think you have veered slightly off course from reality:

When the press asked the general what happened to the two crew members of the flight, he smiled smugly, presenting to the crowd two healthy looking chimpanzees. The crowd cheered emphatically with appreciation that with dedication, national pride and a good dose of "doing things differently", Thailand has cast a shadow over all other Space Programs. Long live the Bang Fai!

In other news the Thai Space Agency announced a successful landing in Nakhon Nowhere of their highly advanced spacecraft. The spaceship was built only with Thai components and using rocket technology developed through Bang Fai the rocket programs as these rockets are superior to any imported rocket materials.

Asked at the press conference why the spaceship disintegrated when it entered the atmosphere, the director of the agency answered angrily if the reporter was Thai or not and thus ended the press conference.
There were no news given whether the two Thai serving privates, who happily joined the space program, survived or not. This did cause concern with some rear admiral as he needed his car washed by Monday.

Nearly 1 hours later and in broad daylight with a defined trajectory and still nothing definitive to report. There would of course be evidence of such an occurrence however Thailand has trouble with things like evidence.

Thailand at it's best

Huge meteorite falls on earth in Thailand

001-wpcf_728x413.jpg

BANGKOK: -- A huge fireball believed to be a meteorite fell on earth and was seen by many people in the country during the morning rush hour.

The huge fireball fell vertically on earth and witnessed by thousands of Bangkok people driving to work and walking on the streets during the morning rush hour at 8.45 am.

It was so bright and in green and orange colours when it fell down vertically from the sky with white smoke tail.

There was no sound of explosion when it fell on earth and disappeared in Bangkok sky.

But residents in Sisawat district of Kanchanaburi province, about 200 kilometres away from Bangkok, also reported sighting the fireball and followed by a thunderous explosion.

One resident said at first she thought it was an aircraft accident but district officials affirmed there was no aircraft accident in the area.

But a relief organisation foundation rescue worker in Kanchanaburi reported hearing two explosions and now a team of rescue workers was sent out to locate the scene of explosion.

JS 100 Radio Station interviewed an astrologer who said it might be a meteorite which could fall day and night.

But this time this meteorite might be huge and was then seen on broad daylight.

Aeronautical Radio of Thailand later confirmed no aircraft accident and said it could possibly be a meteorite, the traffic radio station said.

Motorists began filing in pictures of the fireball caught from their car video cameras to JS 100 station showing tail of white smoke plunging from the sky.

Reports from as wide afield as Jomtien and Kanchanaburi province...

Reports say North of Bangkok...

Probably at a hight of 100km or more, and travelling at a speed of 11 to 72km/sec

My guess is it was heading NW and anything that did make it to Earth ended up in the Bay of Bengal

There was a report of another fireball in Pattaya today .

I think the Martians has arrived to destroy us all and we just have to be brave and fight back.

No reward needed to catch the bad guys this time , they'll catch us first.
