The strong south west monsoon prevails over the Andaman Sea and the south west coast. This would cause heavy rain and widespread thundershowers in the area, especially in Ranong, Phang Nga and Phuket. People in the low lying areas or the foothills are advised to especially prepare for any flash floods. Waves in the Andaman Sea are strong. Shipping should proceed with caution, while small boats should stay ashore, in the next couple of days. This warning has been issued this morning at 6am.
