kuiburi
Wow finally, justice is too slow in Thailand especially when rich people are involved. Its good that the guy finally has to go to jail. I always thought it was a farce when he did not have to go to jail. Finally some justice. Next on the list red bull and the teenager that hit the minivan with people in it. Vorayuth Yoovidhaya, the Red Bull Heir, will NEVER serve time for his crime.. And was it really a crime or an awful accident ? Shit happens in life and I think this spoilt young man hit the motorcyclist by accident and then panicked .. when he realised the driver was a policeman. The policeman's family accepted ten million bahts in compensation. Will help to fill the space left by the dead policeman. This is Thailand and it's the way it works here. Let the young guy alone and let him live his life. He has to have that on his conscience forever. They have no concience , litlle reminder

But Baksheeda what if it had been someone from a lesser family who could not raise the 10 million baht to pay the victims family, would he also be left alone to live his life as you are prescribing for the rich families or should the poor people just be sent straight to jail without passing go ? Acharn
Mentally ill, nasty piece of work more like. In the United States, the judge called it "affluenza." He reasoned the teenager had grown up in such a super-wealthy family that he had never learned the law applied to him as well as to other people. Of course, the judge saw to it that the law didn't apply to him. I think that was one of the states where judges are elected. The Supreme Court has ruled that elected judges do not have to recuse themselves from cases involving large campaign contributors. And some people say we are a nation of laws. ROFLMAO! sendintheclowns
I like it! Every month, I'd go to the 'Most Viewed' side panel on the front of the BP, Red Bull/ Mercedes/ etc. Checked to see any news - naw. TIT. If this continues, I might start praying for a delayed return to 'normal' . Standing by for broadsides !!
tomacht8
He won't ever spend a second inside a jail cell. His parents are too rich and glamorous. Their circle owns this country. This court ruling has been orchestrated as a PR exercise, to save the justice system's face (once again). I also think that his jail time will not be so bitter. The grace of the happy birth, child of wealthy and well connected parents will spread his protective hand over him. - Free choice of the detention center. - Free choice of supervising prison guards. - Daily fresh food delivered as desired. - Comfortable single cell, furnished according to the personal taste. - Accompanied free transitions. - Participation in charity events outside the detention center. - Participation in various sporting events - Accompanied visits to doctors and massage shops to release tensions. - Early release for good behavior as well as the usual reduction of the penalty. Compared to a normal Swedish prison that would be a traumatic experience.

Are you suggesting that because compensation was paid, that should be the end of it,? We all know how it works here, But does that make it right, He should have got 10 to 15 years. Do you honestly, really think this HISO piece of shit has any conscience. Hit the motorcycle by accident, at 160 KM, Yeah right, !! noitom
Very light sentence for premeditated murder is preposterous. How are the Thai police doing with the Ferrari cop killer who ragge the victim 2-300 years on Sukhumvit and then colluded with senior police to have a house staff take the fall? springheeled jack
this is what I like about the justice system in Thailand its consistency 2 years for a maniac who drove his car deliberately into a bus queue killing one person and injuring others whether compensation was paid is irrelevant he should have been given a sentence of at least 10years . ramrod711
Just imagine how much money that little darling has cost his dad. From The Nation Friday July 6 2007 Fare collector Somjit Klaewkla stood by Sathaporn's account. "Our bus didn't do anything. There was no brushing accident," she said. She said some passengers pointed their fingers at Kanpitak and used their camera phones to photograph his face after they were asked to get off the bus. When a bus is involved in an accident, passengers have to get off and wait for a new bus to come. "I believe the man got angry and therefore swerved his car into where we were standing," Somjit said. She said she had sustained only minor injuries. Another survivor, Ratchanee Jiew, 58, also said the bus did not brush against any vehicle. Sathaporn also told police that a man, who identified himself as the father of the car's driver, threatened to harm his wife and children. "He said he knew many senior police and military officers. The threat was made in front of police officers. I am scared," Sathaporn said.
