I have some serious sleep issue that I've dealt with over time. I was just wondering if their is a clinic in Chiang Mai that deals with sleep problems that anyone is aware of. Thanks.

Whatever you find make sure they keep you in there for a night. I had one in Canada and they told me my C pak was not putting enough pressure It was a long time ago. Now they are automatic.

They also told me I had Rapid Leg Movement which also kept me from getting in to the deeper sleep plus I needed 7 liters more a minute of oxygen.

None of that information was available with the take home and hook up on spots they mark on you machinery.

There was another thread on this topic and it seems that most hospitals have a clinic.

One on road leading to Thapae Gate, about 100 meters in down soi.

I've had an apartment in the area for 8 years. Know that area well. There are many Sois on Thapae Road (which leads to Thapae Gate). But Moonmuang leads to Thapae Gate as well, and has sois also. Which road? Which soi?

Any idea which soi, is it a soi to the right or the left, any landmarks around the correct soi, and approximately how far from Thapae gate is this soi. Also, does the clinic say "Sleep clinic" in English or am I going to be looking for a sign in Thai? Any info will help. Appreciate your post, but it's a little lite on specifics, lol.

On the road from night market towards TG where it bends around into McDonald's.

Walk from TG towards river and it's first or second soi on right, past 7/11 and before wat.

Sleep clinic sign at start of soi.

But it doesn't do any of the stuff the other guy mentioned. I thought you had insomnia and needed tranquilizers.

Mabye he does, not sure. Speaks good English so easy to check.

Open 6-8.30 pm mon-fri so go tonight.

Maybe he opens at night because insomniacs are sleep through the day.

Padu Clinic. Thapae Soi 5. Left at the 7/11. I've been a customer since I moved to Chiang Mai. Lol. I know what you're talking about. Thanks for the info! However I'm in the process of tapering off tranquilizers (benzodiazipines) which I've been taking on and off of years. I'm planning on stopping completely. They work until they don't, then you need to quit, go though withdrawal, then rinse and repeat. I'm looking for a non-drug approach. Benzos are just getting less effective every year I take them. Like I said, they work until they don't. Time to move on. However, I may have stumbled onto an approach myself that doesn't require drugs. thumbsup.gif

Did you set your alarm to wake up and post at 4.30am to be funny? Lol

Who needs an alarm? I usually haven't gone to bed yet, or if I have, I'm already up and about. Ahhh! The joys of being an insomniac. Lol biggrin.png

Perhaps the OP needs to clarify what exactly he's looking for. If it's a doctor who will prescribe meds to help him sleep or a clinic where he'll stay overnight for proper observation and evaluation of his sleep patterns?

Bangkok Hospital also has a sleep clinic where you stay overnight to have your sleep evaluated.

Thanks for mentioning that Nancy. He kind of left us hanging in the air with his opening statement. Good to hear Bangkok Hospital has a real sleep clinic.

Connda, I had a few very tough months of little sleep and cannot takie meds. I finally rigged myself a "grounding blanket" and slep a solid 8 hours last night. Gets better every week. Check out "grounding" or earthing" balnket/mat/pad. You Tube has directions on how to make your own. It might help you.

i take 5 mg of Atarax for a good night sleep. Available at any pharmacy.

I've taken Atarax before. The day after taking it I feel like a slug. It just saps the energy right out of me which is a side effect of this class of drug.

Diazepam is much cheaper than Xanax, but unfortunately I can't remember the prices. I haven't been there for awhile. I get my meds from our provincial hospital where 30 diazapam and the doctor visit costs me under 100 THB.

The doctor at Panu Clinic carries Xanax in 0.5 and 1.0mg and diazepam in 5 and 10mg.

The will also charge you a one time fee for a patient card which I believe is 100 THB.

I'd suggest calling them at 053-207131. According the the card they will answer 24/7, but TIT, maybe yes maybe no. If you live outside of Muang Chiang Mai, you should look for one of your provincial hospitals or clinics in your specific Amphur. Significantly less expensive than clinics in the city.
