Anyone busted for drugs is innocent and the police planted the drugs on him (or her).

Loy Kratong is too :o

To quote the "travellers bible" Lonely Planet;

Songkran Held from 13 to 15 April, this is the celebration of the lunar New Year. Buddha images are 'bathed', monks and elders receive the respect of the younger Thais by the sprinkling of water over their hands, ...........

You should go on a trek....you'll see tribes of primitive people who have never seen a white skinned person before and know nothing about modern culture.

Surely not!! :D ... I did enjoy the nescafe coffee and ketchup and knor soup blocks when i was in that village though.... :o

Foreigners get a fair go at Thai law

:D:D:D :D

You can Move to Thailand .... Check!

with no degree ..... Check!

and be an actor ... Check! (P.O.W extra of course)

a volunteer with the paramedics ....

conduct negotiations with the Burmese ... sort of check!

meet the leaders of the PAD .... Not them, but a couple of princesses and family - we danced!

know the folks in the secret service ...

and that only covers 1 week of your trip!

Thats why four years was a bit much much for me. :D

.

OK, I heard an amazing one a few years back.

Thai people cut off the tails of cats, which is why so many of them are deformed. Apparently, the Buddha said nothing in this world is perfect and the Thais believe the cat to be a perfect animal so they cut their tails off (or break them) so they won't be perfect anymore.

:D

(the truth? Its a genetic trait, passed down from the original cats that came to Asia and interbred to produce deformed tails as a dominant gene).

I actually believed that myth for about two years, until having various kittens myself.

:D

Once I was in a bar with some long(er)timers and we were giving the run down (much in the vein of this thread, i might add) to some newbie backpackers, cos they had a pretty girl amongst them.

One of the kids asks us about the head touching thing.

My mate tells him, dead serious like,

" Oh Yes! That's absolutely awful if you touch any thai child or animal on the head. You'll have bad sex for forty years. If you are pointing your feet at them at the same time you'll never have sex again!"

The israeli bit his tongue and refrained from looking at or touching any thai person as he sat cross legged for the rest of the for the rest of the evening.

Thais never kiss with their mouths open.

the women do, otherwise how do they bget their tongues out

Any Thai person who comes up and talks to you is trying to coerce into a scam in which you will lose your entire life savings...

A visit to the "Ping Pong show" is a really entertaining evening.

In all Thai girl / farrang guy couples you see, the Thai girl is a hooker.
