I know it is required for cars "older than 7 years." My car is a 2008, So when I go this month to pay tax and registration is it considered 7 years old or "older" than 7 years. In other words, will I need the inspection this year or next year?

You will need the inspection this year. Mine is a 2007, and it needed to be inspected last year and this year.

So you already have paid tax/insurance for seven years.

So quite sure you have to do the inspection this year.

Just count the number of entries in your blue book. It is as easy as this. If there are seven or more, be prepared to spend 20 minutes and 200 Baht at a licensed shop.
