thaibeachlovers
I don't know the law here but in England 'common law wifes' are not entitled to anything on a break up. In New Zealand live together two years and it's the same as being married- 50/ 50 plus the house for whoever keeps the children till they reach a certain age. Having a "legal" marriage as such is pretty meaningless in NZ now- brought in by a certain PM a while back. Makes no difference being married or not as to whether one can take one's "wife" to live in NZ. What that guy did was immoral, but let's face it, there would be a lot of farangs married to Thai wives that might do the same if they came into a great deal of money. Certainly be a mia noi or three. Edited October 19, 2015 by thaibeachlovers
bannork
In The Daily News today Mr Thammarong was interviewed on his 30 rai fish farm under construction( only 40 km from my home) he proposed to give his ex 10 million baht and a new pick-up in exchange for their child but his wife refused the deal, saying she wanted the 10 million to bring up their child and she doesn't want to be condemned by society for selling her child. Instead she will go to court on November 30th to settle the matter.
philipines
Good on her... hope she wins for the sake of the child. If he was SMART, he'd find coupla guys with motorbikes to drive by and convince her to change her mind.
philipines
Hell hath no fury like a scorned, woman divorced by SMS while entitled to a big share of lotto winnings, Word to the wise, this guy should be careful that he will not turn from a happy, live winner to a dead one, people were done over for far less that that.... This article teaches all of us to be careful if something similar happens in our lives. If you're with someone you're tired of, and you're not getting a happy life, and then you are BLESSED with a windfall, don't open your mouth about it. Think carefully before you do anything, how to leave your friend. As farangs it's ez 4us to just leave to another country, and we have PLENTY of countries from which to select. If the woman was making you happy then she would have less fears after having convinced you you're never going to find a better companion. Don't know if such women are around, but we can all dream. philipines
I don't know the law here but in England 'common law wifes' are not entitled to anything on a break up. In Canada they absolutely are after living together for 2 years (except Quebec). I was in the US years ago watching one of those daily Judge TV shows where people come complain about this or that. Woman wins in court because her mate evicted her or threw her out of his apartment after couple of months. Judge said after 30 days some woman you picked up must be legally served eviction papers. Message received is use a calendar and find an excuse during the 3rd week. Else if an option, don't allow any woman to live in your facility unless you've been together at least 2 years and comfortable together.
