Likely to be pulled over?

Featured Replies

Me and some friends are planning a trip to Phuket in the next few months and planning on hiring scooters. I was just wondering how likely we are to be pulled over by police during the day.

We aren't planning on drink riding however during the day however we will be having big nights and riding around the following days and a good chance still have alcohol in our body.

So how likely would we be to get pulled over if we ride according to the law and if we were to get pulled over and blow positive to alcohol what kind of bribe would I expect (if bribing is possible)

Thanks.

You'll get pulled over when the BIB need some tea money.....any time anywhere!

Don't be irresponsible. If you know you'll be over the limit then seek alternative means of transport.

How would you feel if you killed a child? Could you live with that for the rest of your life.

Rent a car between you and avoid the risk - not only of being pulled over, but of the potential tragedy when Phuket's unpredictable drivers cut you off....

Hire from a reputable company.

Ensure the car has First Class Insurance.

Ensure you have your Home Licence accompanied with an International Drivers permit.

IF you must hire a bike.

Never leave your Passport with the hire company.

Wear adequate clothing.

Always wear your helmet.

Ensure you have decent medical cover which also covers riding a bike.

Unpredictable? And the OP has stated that there's a good chance that they'll be over the limit.

I sincerely hope they don't kill your kids or family, Richard. You should be ashamed.

I'm so incensed that I've reported this thread. Absolutely disgusting.

Bottom line here is you are asking is it Ok to break the law and be irresponsible and whether or not you can break the law further by bribing a Police Officer.

And somehow you feel this is ok?, well no, it isnt.
