You'll see certain speed limitations depending on the method being utilized to deliver Internet to your location.

ADSL2+ has a 16Mbit/s theoretical ceiling. If you want a faster connection to your service provider then the next step up would be XDSL/SDSL.

If switched to a different delivery method, like Cable DOCSIS or FTTx Fiber Optic then 30 Mbit/s and higher can easily be delivered.

The downside is that, even with a higher speed subscription, you might not see improved speeds through the International Internet Gateway. Some destination locations are heavily managed/congested and even the big boy subscribers have trouble seeing decent speeds.

Are you trying to get My Cat mobile service? It's decent here in Chumphon and when I travel I get a signal just about everywhere, except for the mountain area towards Ranong. The speeds aren't too bad, even after you exceed your fair use cap. You can test it out for a month or 2 and see how it works. Great backup to the landline. All you can do with ASDL is have them come check the line. If you are getting 1Mbps uplload from 3bb, that's actually pretty good.

If you want fiber, how much are you willing to invest for them to drop the lines?
