Poly Tar Shampoo N/A in Thailand anymore?

Unfortunately I suffer from an itchy scalp and ran out of my supply of Neutrogenia T-Gel shampoo that I

brought back from the states. I knew from past experiences that Poly Tar Liquid was a suitable replacement.

Looking for it this past week I was told by every Pharmacist that it was discontinued and didn't know if it would

ever be restocked. I was also told that a number of people have inquired about it as well. Has anyone else

gone through this and what kind of replacement brand did you find?

Thanks for any info.

I found that Selsun worked well as a replacement (selenium sulfide 2.5%) and is made here.

Believe Head & Shoulders Intensive Treatment also contains but not sure if sold here.

Yes, my partner has used Selsun for a long time. It is available at Fascino drugs in North Pattaya and possibly at their other outlets.

Poly Tar shampoo was the best...I think it was way better than all the others..

Poly Tar had/has many fanatical consumers who would not use any thing else...

The company that was making Poly Tar stopped making it 3 or 4 years ago.

For the longest time they said they will be starting production again with-in 6-9

months starting 4?? years or so ago...

Now they say they will not be making any more despite intense worldwide demand.

Their excuse is they can not source the coal-tar...

I call a Major Bullcrap to this..

Their are massive amounts of coal tar in the world...

I think the Poly Tar was just too cheap and too effective so it had to be taken off

the market..The hell with people in need money #1....

For some reason Thailand had a huge stock of Poly Tar and you could still find it

here a little as 7-8 months ago..

But now its all but gone from the pharmacies...

Poly Tar can still be found on Ebay at a pretty inflated price...

Perhaps it was because of the health concerns over coal tar even though it would appear that the amount used in such shampoos should be ok?

I don't think it was because of health concerns as in the US every drug store/pharmacy has its own generic version available on the shelves.
