Hi,

I rented a (new model) Toyota Vios 1.6L.

Can I fill it up with "E 20 gasohol" or do I have to feed it 91?

Thanks.

I've got a Vios and I put 91 in mine, it's the 'new' model from 2 years ago, I think it's been superseded by yet another new model since then.

If you open the cap where the fuel goes in you might find there's a big sticker on it telling you exactly what to put in it - there's a big '91' sticker on mine once you pop the cap.

Sure you can use E20 on a new Vios.

It should also be labeled under the tank cover.

Its years now that all new compact cars come with E20 capability.

Could be wrong, but I remember that is mandatory by regulations for newly licensed models since ? to be E20 fit.

Dedicated models even come with E85 capability nowadays ("Flexfuel E85").
Not sure whether the Vios is also.

Then I would have to leave it at home,

Close to none in the whole province.

Shell is also a nogo for me. Why should I pay more.

PTT is my first stop.

Mazda 2 from 2011, using E20.

I tried to find some reference information about E85 for Vios to no avail.

(E20 is 100% sure for many years, E85 maybe since 2013)

The Toyota website is useless as so many Thai car sites.

All about bells and whistles but so many technical info missing.

Fuel and consumption? Who cares for such details wink.png
