I have booked with Nok Air to fly from Don Mueang to Udorn Thani and then take the Nok Air transport (bus/minibus?) into the centre of Vientiane. In the past I have always travelled from Udorn to Vientiane under my own steam, and have spent various amounts of time (from five minutes to 35 minutes) getting my Lao visa on arrival.

Does anyone know whether the Nok Air require passengers on the Udorn - Vientiane leg to already have a Lao visa in their passport , or does the transport wait for passengers who need one to get their visa on arrival?

As I understand:

NokAir (its Thai contractor) travels you to the Friendship bridge.

You travel over the bridge (20 Baht bus), cross the border on your own and then there is a Lao company transporting you to Vientiane.

I would guess that the transport to Vientiane goes on a regular schedule? (not a dedicated "Nok Air" bus)

Some details on the website:
