tree smell

I have noticed a tree smell around a lot of chinag mai at the moment. My friend says it smells like coriander, but to me it is like an aromatic resin from a tree. Does anyone know the name of the tree?

Night flowers of a tree, common this time of year.

Smells like a kind of soap.

At our place the fragrance comes from dtohn wassana.

I think it is a variety of yucca palm.

Not sure.

Alstonia scholaris, Indian devil tree or in Thai: don teen pat - duck feet tree.

Scent from the flowers is most noticeable in the evening and may be offensive to some.

We have around a dozen of them at least. They always flower at the same time.

hehe so many different possibilities- i will find a place - (there is one halfway down nimman) and locate the plant or tree to get a final ID, thanks for the info
