1. He was speeding in the early morning hours and had a one vehicle collision with a stationary object;

2. He was coming from a bar in Patong;

3. He's Irish

When we pulled him from the wreckage we did not smell any alcohol on him so we didn’t breathalyse him

So, he must have made the requisite compensation payment to the BIB. Good to see that the Phuket BIB are doing their best to crack down on drunk driving as they have proclaimed the need to reduce motor vehicle accidents.

He only killed a road sign so no need to fine him.

If you have an accident, get robbed or what ever happen to a Farang in Thailand he is always the idiot. There are also some normal people out here.

A dizzy Irishman known plenty.

No complaints abut discrimination against the farang this time?

Surely the story is true. It came from the police and it's in the newspaper.

He was speeding? Where did you get that info?

Praise where due, as there was no damage done to anyone or anything (including the road sign)and he was not considered to be under the influence, then the officers acting accordingly and commendably in assisting him.
