Brussels-born Abdeslam Salah, wanted for his alleged involvement in the November 13 terrorist attacks in Paris, was reportedly seen in Patong months ago.

PHUKET: -- A man wanted in connection to the devastating terrorist attacks in Paris that left 129 people dead and more than 240 injured was reportedly seen in Phuket earlier this year, a well-informed source within Phuket's French-speaking community revealed to the Phuket Gazette.

Police forces in Europe are currently hunting 26-year-old Brussels-born Abdeslam Salah for his alleged involvement in the attack.

“This man was reportedly seen in Patong months ago,” the source said. “However, we have yet to confirm whether or not it was him or just someone who looked similar to him.”

The French Honorary Consulate, which has been informed of the report, confirmed to the Gazette that it will coordinate with Phuket police to verify the alleged sighting.

“If anyone sees or has any information relating to the man, please inform the French Honorary Consulate immediately,” the source said.

Was the source that the Thai press is quoting that saw him in Phuket credible? It may very well be as Phuket and Thailand would be a logical place for him to be operating and planning under the radar. "A few months ago" would also put him in Thailand on, before or after the Ratchaprasong bomb terror.

Possible but unlikely. More likely someone wanting their 5 minutes of fame. "I saw someone who looked a bit like that once." We all have. "All Falang and Alab look same same" as someone else posted.

Not astonished.

... the majority of bad behaving French on Bangla are Pieds Noir -black feet- like him.

And even worse, Pattaya's Soi 16 / Soi VC area is not for nothing called among expats: Jihad R&R zone ...

Something like their advance payment of the 72 virgins in paradise ;-)

If it's virgins they're after they're in the wrong places.

Please, don't call them Pieds Noirs: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pied-Noir

easy to know, where are the logs of the immigration? they should answer the question in seconds. Another stupid news.

Wherever he has been is of interest. Maybe there is a terror cell in Phuket? Maybe he has left details/evidence there. And so on.

Not difficult to understand us it?

....unless he was traveling on a fake passport, which criminals/terrorists have been known to do. Duh!

but if he was travelling on a fake Turkish passport, they would never have spotted it anyway.
