Colabamumbai
What country has banned the sale of Booze? Every small store in Thailand will be selling it.
HooHaa
obviously no one here remembers early loi krathong celebrations in bangkok when all the popular waterfront areas were basically war zones with hard alcohol and beer available every 5 meters and drunken yobs lighting off fireworks in the middle of the crowd. fire works and alcohol related incidents by the dozens in every location. loy kratong is a traditional religious activity. get drunk eslewhere. last year i was able to attend loy krathong with my kid and stress the tradition of the thing rather than stressing about her safety. i couldnt do that 10 years ago. tukkytuktuk
Bar is open in less than 2 hours. The beer drought is nearly over.
SoiBiker
Bars were open the whole time. I just got home from one. Shame they couldn't ban the wind and rain, though.
fey
some drunk guy was watching the parade and was oogling the women in the parade. he started yelling about poon and prostitution. apparently he had been drinking excessively prior to this terrible incident. Mosha
Went to the one in Ranong, and the # of attendees was way down on previous years, and the last 2 have been very wet. I didn't have to look for a parking spot. Parked 100 metres from the entry point to the event.
