Roads closed for VIP's

Been a number of years since I posted anything here.

I understand this subject could be close to the bone so the only opinion I have I that preservation of life should come first.

Today I was stuck still at the front of the queue for about 1 hour while the royal Thai police closed the Hang Dong road to all traffic so a certain VIP could get to their destination. Behind me were two ambulances with flashing lights. One can only hope that the patients in the ambulances didn't have life threatening injuries.

It makes me wonder if these VIP's understand the impact that they have on 'ordinary people'.

We have to choose our words very carefully here, but this comment confirms mine in the thread "Traffic Chaos"........With traffic already virtually gridlocked downtown, one of the main exit roads from the City is closed for an hour at peak time? What kind of madness is this ? My partner who is a tour guide took two hours to drive from downtown to Mae Hia Market area left downtown before 6pm, arrived home eventually at 8.15pm !!

and then of course there is the police resource element. The whole force must be able to drop everything on a whim and line up every 40m apart standing in their best uniform and cap.

i often see a hundred officers line up the length of Hang Dong Road, Mahidol Road and the whole length of Chang klan road.

To be honest when I am on the road, there is no one more important than me. Period.

With all due respect feller's what kind of VIP that high up would be going to Hong Dong?

One who flies in or out of Chiang Mai.

Sometimes, a fella just needs to Hang his Dong!

Logistics companies, artisans and export companies are the main stay of Hang Dong

Someone is either nouveaux riche or just taking over the family business to create such a flutter!

but let's not forget, the trickle down impact is exactly what this country thrives on.!

Asians love and accept the colour gray - while non Asians debate whether it should be black or white!
