As some might know I had to move due of work commitments to the " beautiful" island called Phuket.due that my new company is paying for our housing we choose a house in a gated community where the rent isn't cheap...

Though beside us lives a Thai lady alone with a brand new BMW and stays home all day except when she takes her little "dog" for a walk. 2-3 times a week comes a black limousine ( with driver) and a Thai chap is visiting her between 1-2 h .

For my taste she isn't a stunner( very white, skinny and red dyed hairs) but she must have obviously other qualities...but heck for 2-3 times sex a week?you can get this a lot cheaper..

Sorry for asking but what makes you think that he is there only for SEX 2-3 times a week......perhaps she is a really nice individual ......doesnt mean every mia noi is a sex slave !!!

Perhaps she is a really nice lady...but according to the sound during his visits a doubt they are discussing philosophical topics...

From the posts, seems that most people would relate Mia noi to sex. That's very shallow thinking IMO. Who are we (the bystanders) to judge other people's affairs?

ps - though it is not part of your value system, the concept of mia noy has been around before you came here…. it sounds like she is free to go if she pleases and he can come when he wants…

but I am sure, as you would, they do not appreciate someone speculating about their private life on a public internet forum.

Mia Noi means minor wife and is an accepted practice in Thailand and are not necessarily looked down upon by Thai society or in many cases the Mia Luang (sic) The major or primary wife. Many Thai wives accept them as performing functions that they no longer want to do and are easier to deal with than a divorce

Now the Mia Chow in Thai society is "the paid wife" and is considered a prostitute , much like a mistress in the US

Everything you can imagine about..may be not the reality...

About taste, sex, and infidelity, we farangs are more predictable. Thai people, men and women, are really unpredictable, and not easy to understand their behavior most of the times. My wife always is telling me about her friends, single and married ones. What they do, and what they know about others doing. It is a mixture of tradition and values that WE never will understand. I my self, had very weird experiences with Thai people regarding marriage and relationships....so weird... that nobody will believe..only having the same experience. But...here...I am always ready for surprises.

maybe You can share with us the weird expérience You learn regard mariage and relationships ?

OK..Just one of many. After a presentation I did on a school outside my town, the school principal, a very attractive mid age woman, invite me to spend the night in her home to avoid my night ride back home, on a dangerous road.. She was married with other school's principal, also present at the event. Nice Thai guy, younger than myself.

We had a nice house dinner and chat, and I went to my room. Hours later, she appear in my room asking me to have sex with her. I asked about her husband. She said that her husband have its lovers, and he doesn't mind if she has hers. Nothing happens, I was not interested in that kind of risk. Later, she called, and drove 2 hours to surprise me in my home. I wanted to have sex that time. She refused, telling me that somebody around may know her, and will feel strange that she was in my home. She said that in her house is safer because people around her house will not believe that she will do that. She wanted for me to visit her the following day, because her husband will be out of town.....She called with the same proposal many times. I never did. If that's not weird...you tell me.

To all the advocates who say it up to him, how would you feel if your trophy bride was bonking her Thai boyfriend ?

Some shallow and insecure people on here.

If sex with the mia noi (a.k.a. slag,) is so good, why did you marry her (your wife) in the first place ?

Most people married their wife many years before having a mia noy - things change through time in relationships - you can still love someone and want to care for them and provide them a good life and a mia noy can provide that feeling of youth and new attraction that vanishes through time… it is not that unusual for the wife to know of and sometimes approve of the mia noy…

I have seen some unusual relationships here but if they work, then fine, not my life, not my business…

I know of a male friend of many years. He 'married' his Mia noy not because of youth or sex but because of love. His first wife is a nightmare who doesn't manage the household or takes care of him. She is like a lovely vase for display only. However he still maintain his marriage even till now. His Mia noy does all the duties of the first Wife, including being his confidant too.

you are right, no doubt when the man comes over the two discuss geopolitical socio-economics, nanotechnology innovation, and gene mapping.

Yes, maybe a Mia noi.... Fairly common in Thailand, normal even. Some 'Mia Luang' even tolerate it, some don't, but they invariably discover the Mia noi's existence sooner or later.

I know a middle aged lady on one of the islands.. Shes the wife of a farang who got old and died.. Shes had a couple of kids, had some mystery illness that made her swell up, shes easy middle aged and frankly fat.. Not being nasty but to just paint the picture shes a 2.. On a good day.. Som Tam seller standard looks..

As soon as the farang died.. Some hiso businessman from the mainland, who has a wife, started boinking her very rarely.. hes around briefly once a month or less.. Hes bought her a brand new X1 BMW SUV, pays her bills and lifestyle, everything.

For a middle aged 2..

Mia noi in Thai, GALLEE, lowest of the low.

But if that floats your boat, go for it.

Gallee is not a word for a Mia noi

Correct, it is not. But Galilee is the biggest insult you can give to a female here.

I tend to think that mia nois are in that category.

But I am not a condescending westerner like you. ...

I suppose we're all entitled to our own opinion

Yes, exactly, we are.

But if your daughter, or Mr Sanctimonious's daughter, were to be a mia noi, I am not too sure you would accept it ?

I'm not really bothered what you think I would accept or not.

But if you think you're not a condescending person, you're kidding no-one but yourself

But I am not a condescending westerner like you. Been here longer than you, and I call it as it is.

How long have you "been here" to still have a twisted and uninformed opinion of the Mia Noi's of Thailand?

Longer than you, but if you are happy with a daughter being a shag bag for a Thai bloke with no morals, fair enough.

Everyone to their own.

Normally, when I want to make it look like I have a rational and reasonable point of view, I try to avoid pejorative and abusive terms. I'm always worried I'd look like a bigot.

I see it as it is, so why should I hold back ?

I am waiting for the reply that would justify a daughter being a sex thing for a man with money.

"sex thing" -muntil you can learn to speak decently, you can't expect to be treated like a decent human being.

Keep on kidding yourself, so's at least one person respects you
