Pattaya Court issues arrest warrant in Australian abduction case



PATTAYA: -- As Police continue to investigate the abduction of a 38-year-old Australian who was beaten unconscious and taken away in a pick-up truck from the front of his luxury villa in Jomtien early on Monday Morning, an arrest warrant for one of the suspected abductors has been issued and drug taking paraphernalia was found during a search of the victim’s villa.

At time of publication the whereabouts of the victim and the 5-man-gang who are thought to have taken him, is still unknown although Police Major General Ampon, the Chonburi Provincial Commander, who is now leading the investigation, is confident the victim is still alive and the case will likely be solved within the next few days.

Details emerged on Monday of the extensive criminal past of the victim, Mr. Wayne Schneider aged 38, a former member of the Hells Angels Motorbike Club and owner of a Fitness Club in Australia, who had been previously charged with drugs and robbery offences in his home country. During a search of the victim’s villa on Monday drug taking paraphernalia was found.
