PHUKET: -- The plans for the B40-million “movie museum” that failed to to gain consensus at Nai Harn has been well received by community leaders in Karon, and is likely to find a new home there, Phuket Governor Chamroen Tipayapongtada has confirmed.

“I have held initial talks with locals leaders in Karon and shown them the construction plan,” Gov Chamroen told The Phuket News.

“They liked it and will discuss the plan with local residents, but the project will still need to pass a public hearing,” he added.

Gov Chamroen noted that Phuket receiving a budget allocation of B40 million for such a project presented an opportunity not to be missed.

“This budget of B40-million for a project is not easy to get. Now we have Cabinet approval, I do not want Phuket to lose it,” he said.

They are hell bent on making this happen. The emphasis on getting the 40 million budget seems to be the only priority and dont care where it built.

Exactly - there must be some very fat 'bonuses' being handed out.

Better than at Nai Harn ! Where the road curves to go around the lagoon, if you go straight instead (where they set up Loy Kratong festival) plenty of room down there.

Movie museum here...what kind of history have this place with movies....is it the rats dominating Pearl and Ruanjit cinema some 20 years ago they shall set in a glassmonter and show the public!

^^Almost none. It has about the same merit as a Tom Yum Goong cook off in Butte Montana.
