Every chance it will be excellent but best take the platinum card.

I had the Sunday brunch couple of months ago and it was very good but at 3,200baht/person including free flow wine it had to be.

I nor my Thai and foreigner guests were particularly impressed esp considering the price. Lovely setting and good service but for the money I except better then just good Thai food as that can easily be found with the other attributes mentioned for much less here.

I know perfectly well what you mean. I must say the best Thai food I had in Berlin. Tantalizingly spiced..

Don't know much about Bkk

Grateful for suggestions of outstanding places

Out of all the Dhara Dhevi restaurants I think the Thai one is the least impressive. Not sure there is anything really wrong with it, it's more that 'very good Thai food' you can get in lots of places. However "very good dim sum / Chinese" or "very good French food" are slightly less prevalent in Chiang Mai. I think my favorites there are Fujian, and the bakery.

I had a nice Thai lunch at the Dhara Dhevi. the setting was beautiful. I did not find it that expensive . Chiang Mai has the best Italian restaurants in Thailand. I often travel there specifically to eat good Italian food.

Ren is the Japanese place and they have some great stuff there but there are other value options seeing that the Malls are flooded with Japanese restaurants in Thailand

Fujian and the tea & cakes are my fav ...the branch at Maya is also cool and frequently empty on weekdays if The main hotel is not along the way
