BANGKOK: -- The price battle for two fourth generation or 4G mobile phone licences on the 900 MHz spectrums took another break at 6 am Wednesday morning with the bid prices jumping to 31,862 million baht each, or 63,724 million baht for both.

The bidding which started at 9 am yesterday continued again late this morning after it entered the 54th round at day break after 18 hours of battle.

Secretary-general of the National Broadcasting and Telecommunications Commission (NBTC) Takorn Tanthasith said the four bidders showed no sign of back-off in the battle for the two licences, thus making him to speculate when the battle will stop.

But he said as compared with the previous auction of the 4G licences on the 1800 MHz spectrums, the average price for a megahertz of spectrum this time has exceeded the previous auction.

He said the average price per megahertz for the 1800 MHz system is 2,962 million baht, but now the price per megahertz for the 900 MHz system stood at 3,193 million baht at the end of round 54th.

For the social network, Which actualy is very antisocial!

I'm actually fairly surprised as there are not that many phones that will operate on 900mhz LTE!
