Can anybody recommend a garage/mechanic that is good with Fords? The warranty has expired and I'm reluctant to take my 4 year old Fiesta to main Ford dealer. Gearbox issues...

You either need a transmission specialist or it'll just get swapped out for a new/secondhand one, which I'm sure Ford would be just as able as anywhere to do.

If it was me, I would go and see Jimmy at J&N Autos on the middle ringroad for some decent advice or maybe ProAuto on Hang Dong road that sponsors this place?

You may need to check on something. The Fiesta "clutch" that's what they call it on

the automatic transmission. Early this year a letter was sent to those that purchased

there Fiesta new. The letter in question extended the warranty on that specific part

for five years. I am now looking at my 4th. replacement...no kidding. Check it out.

• note: There are large class action lawsuits running in the US because of this.

My son has a Ford Focus and has been having a hard time getting body parts. He orders from a place then waits a few weeks, gives up and orders from another place. For some reason he does not like the Ford dealer on the north side of the moat. Anyone have any recommendations on other places to reliably get Ford body parts? I'm not sure if cares if they are cheaper than a Ford dealer. Sorry for being slightly off topic.

Daang Kroong Pratu near Airport Plaza got a lot of Ford body parts for me, installed them too. Reasonable.

Ford Dealer on Mae Joe Rd is the main one and is ok.

Both Ford dealers in CM (and Chiang Rai) are all the same company. It's probably better to build a relationship with one of the staff members there. My missus has and he 'jumps' when told. :)
