Looking to return to teach in Myanmar and I see full-time ESL vacancies for NES that offer 32,000 THB per month, (about the same rates as for Thailand).

2 years ago, the going rate when I was working there was 50 - 60k THB basic, plus OT.

I suppose this is what happens when a country 'opens up' and attracts the tourists - same as the low ESL salaries on offer in Phuket.

BTW, I usually teach more than ESL ==> Primary Homeroom (ESL, Maths, Science, ICT, Citizenship etc). Unfortunately, I do not have QTS, and no chance of acquiring that at my advanced age, so 'real' international schools in Myanmar are out of my reach.
