Internet Cafe to Work From?

Featured Replies

Lol @ some of the replies. Guess it serves me right for my choice of wording. I am here in CM on holidays. But there were a couple of self paced online courses I had been doing before leaving and I wanted to resume them because I am exploring a change of career. In fact, getting away from work I resent is precisely why I am here in Thailand! The courses are on areas I like and wish to explore a transition to in future, but for now they are just hobbies (coding, phil, psych). I also want to work on my chess, a hobby I used to take rather seriously but have more or less abandoned in recent times. It may be unpaid, but it requires a serious approach and work-like environment, hence my unfortunate choice of words when requesting advice.

Oh, and thank you very much to all who gave me genuine advice, I will be following up on your suggestions.

Welcome to Thai Visa and now you have seen why 99.9% of expats never use this site.

If you can gat to that one at ThaPae Gate without getting run over, it's both cheap and quiet

Is there no Wifi to be had for the cost of a cup of coffee under flouro-tube lighting at the Thapae gate Maccas?

I was looking for something similar when visiting Chiang Mai about 6 months ago. Never found it. The days of the upmarket internet cafe that provides computers are pretty much over due to smart phones.

However, I ended up using the Duangtawan Hotel business center office for a very reasonable price. They basically barely charged me at all. I just gave them 100 baht every day. It's just a room with a computer, a printer and a comfortable chair. It might be useful for you occasionally.

I'm pretty sure they thought I was staying there and, while I never said I was, I did nothing to dissuade them of that idea.
