Right you are.  I hit the button marked Next Notification Date or something like that and got the form that goes in the passport. I don't know if there really was anything about an email. 

 

So easy. It just took a modicum of patience and persistence.

My 90 day report was returned today,took  6 days,including holidays,so not bad,

also stapled to the receipt was a slip of paper with, "You can do 90 days report

online at the website", http://www.chiangmaiimm.com. thats  a different adress

than the one pinned in 90 day reporting,so they seem to be promoting it, i have

tried a couple of times to report online ,but it was always denied,why who knows.

so next time i will try again,maybe they have their act together, maybe

appointments for yearly extensions will be brought back,not holding my breath.

Same experience, 6 day turnaround, registered out 3 baht stamp back.

Slip promoting online reporting which had ironically worked a few times for me but last time stuck in pending hence the mail in.

 

The Chiangmaiimm.com website takes you to the same URL as the pinned one.

My 90-day Notice came back today (Dec 6th) and it was received via EMS by Immigration on the morning of November 24th.  12 days....a bit longer than usual....but it sure beats going out to Promenada to get it done.  Like many times before, I tried doing it online but it's never worked for me (not sure why as I've had recent entries into the country and was careful to use IE to attempt it).

Thinking of giving online a try next time. I will use Internet Explorer 11, without any ad blocking as that seems to be a major problem. Since I rarely use IE for anything, perhaps it will fly. I have another question regarding using an agency for a retirement extension. I don't need to do that, I've no problem sitting in line a while and feel safer doing it in person, but I have a friend who is quite frail and would benefit from an easier method. Is my understanding correct, that she could visit the agency office at Promenada with the correct paperwork and trust them to take care of it from there?

Don't fret too much about the browser. I did it with Chrome, ad blocker in place, etc. No tweaks at all.

Maybe it was the phase of the moon but it worked.

I went today for 90 day report.  I arrived at 800 and it was crowded.  I got done at 1000.  I could imagine what Tuesday must have been like(day after a holiday).  The Photo/Copy was busy.  Immigration was doing a good  job considering the sheer number of people they have to service on a daily basis.

I guess if more people used the other options for 90 day reporting the queues in that section would be drastically reduced.

Reaching the milestone of 75 years last July I went to Imm today to take advantage of the PRIORITY LANE for a retirement extension, so most of you can tune out:smile:

 

As mentioned in above posts it was very busy as there was an overflow from yesterday following the Monday holiday.

 

For those considering the PRIORITY LANE here is the outcome of my experience.

 

I picked up the application form some days ago and was told, at the time, to bring it to the front desk outside the day I decided to apply.

 

I arrived ,as suggested, at 9.15 am, the same girl who gave me the form was non plussed where I should go.There is no signage but she directed me to the second floor.

 

That too was busy with people processing the TM 30's and Residency letter applications.I asked 3 staff, was met with blank stares, until I found in the far right corner a guy playing with his phone and he didnt know but took my paperwork back downstairs I presume to ask his superior.

 

Turned out the girl sitting right next to him at the computer was responsible for processing priority lane applications... hmm wasn't looking good.

 

She pointed to the chairs and told my wife and I to wait.We managed to park on 2 plastic stools.

 

25 minutes later she came over and said your application is not complete you must provide photo copies of your last 5 visa extension stamps.Of course I asked why ? how is that relevant ?..Its the new law she said and wasnt going to waver.So my wife went down stairs and waited in the copy shop queue and returned with the relevant pages which I signed.

 

Another 20 mins + passed and I was then called up for the photo and told to wait.

 

I knew it had to be signed off by the captain and that took another 45 mins +

 

So its obvious that no staff meetings are held so everyone is on the same page regarding the PRORITY LANE.process

 

We finally saw my passport come up from downstairs with others. After 10 mins ,I had to go and ask for it.It was handed to me without a word.

 

The girl ,not in uniform,was quite unpleasant and my paperwork is always legible and in order.I havent had that experience in over 10 years in CM they are normally very courteus as I am.

 

We finally left there at 12.15pm ,the only advantage it seems of using the Priority method is that we did not have to get there very early to get a ticket.

 

I wont need Imm fror another year unless I need a re entry visa ,90 day reporting will be be done by mail as always, for that I am grateful

 

In passing the old GT4 office the place was packed,despite reported price increases to use their services, business appears to be booming

Today was my 12th day and no return slip, so I guess I'd better go there in person. Last few times it was six days, so I dunno.

Did you submit the form requesting priority service? Or just the application for extension?

Indeed. Driving 10 minutes to the Doi Saket post office (vice 40 minutes to Promenada, with all the lights and traffic, is a no - brainer -- even needing to do this using the new agent there). Packaging everything up, including the return envelope -- then getting EMS for both envelopes -- is easy. Dropped off at post office afternoon of 30 Nov, arrived Immigration Friday 1 Dec -- and processed 1 Dec. Mailed back the next business day (Monday 4 Dec), and was delivered afternoon of 5 Dec. Easy. Maybe, if I begin to hear that online has become stable, I'll try that. But maybe not, considering how the current post office method is so easy.

Both at the same time this morning as previously instructed.The application form is just name and adresss and reason why you want to use the Priority Lane.Knowing it was for 75  and over I just put medical reasons,no questions asked. But repeat there is no signage anywhere

They bring out the signage when there is a photo opportunity for senior staff to show how efficient the "priority" system is.

Call them and ask if it has been processed and probably save yourself a journey. Wife's took 14 days last month, mine took 6 days.

They bring out the signage when there is a photo opportunity for senior staff to show how efficient the "priority" system is.

It has been very efficient for me the number of times I used it but I do not bother them with questions or challenges. If they ask for additional copies I get them and go back to the front of the line or directly to the Officer who made the request. Nor do I need signs to offer my papers, if I offer at the wrong desk I get polite directions or if it is downstairs often an escort!

Was planning on going in, but would take until about 10am. The EMS tracking looks awfully overdone, but I can't read the Thai.

Track using the same link. I put a 3 baht stamp on the return envelope and that works fine. 

Just sent one for a friend on Tuesday morning,signed as received at immigration Wednesday morning.

Thats fine Bill 97 if the staff know the CORRECT place for you  to go but many times they will just send you somewhere  in hope as they did with me yesterday.

Signage would help streamline the system and would avoid staff eating up tgheir time answering you or escorting you when they could be getting on with what ever their function is,its called efficiency.

 

As had been said many times there are still many people that dont know you can do 90 day online or mail that would decrease the number of people who needn't be there.

 

Yesterday was as busy as I have ever seen it in 11 years and will probably get worse before it improves. If you have any business that needs doing best get it done before the peak holiday period.

The situation will not improve with a big shiny new building. Efficient automated reporting and booking plus more qualified staff in the busiest stations is the only way to go.

Dang, somebody really messed mine up, including a friend's I mailed in at the same time. 13 days was way too long, too. Someone forgot to include the stub in both return envelopes, so it was all for nought, will have to go in and do it in person. Just kick back and enjoy, I guess. Did my annual retirement extension on 15 December.

 

Arrived at 4:30 am, underground car park roped off (opened at 6:00 am). The usual no lights anywhere. Immigration sitting area barricaded with chairs and tables to stop anybody getting in, barricades removed at 6:00.

Retirement queue already had 8 people before me, the first 4 were sitters.

 

By 2:30 pm when I left 15 retirement extensions had been completed.

 

Process slowed by "High Priestesses" responsible for final sign-off having personal visits by supplicants seeking special privileges and she having to take medication/ drink water/ have a vacant stare .......

 

Thank heavens it's only once a year.

Glad you got it done, Dave, but your story is why I'll continue to use an agent once a year for an annual extension.  There simply is no way I'll arrive at 4:30AM (let alone 6 or 7AM) and then hang around there for 10 hours.  I continue to hope that they'll bring back the online queue or that they will add an officer for annual extensions so people don't have to go through what you just did.

Or hire a line sitter for 300 baht,arrive at 8.15am and be home by 10.30am same day.

Don't see the online queue coming back. It's disappearance coincided with a now established business appearing on the scene.

And yes, just one more officer doing the extensions of stay downstairs would turn things around but same obstacles.
