BANGKOK: -- Gen Chaichan Changmongkol, deputy permanent secretary for defence, will announce the result of the investigation into the Rajabhakti Park controversy on Dec 30, Deputy Prime Minister Prawit Wongsuwon said on Monday.

Gen Prawit issued an order to appoint Gen Chaichan to head the fact-finding investigation after a committee earlier set up by army chief Gen Theerachai Nakwanich said there were no irregularities in the construction of the project in Hua Hin district of Prachuap Khiri Khan province and there was no corruption on the part of army officers.

People in society were suspicious about the findings by the army-appointed panel.

Gen Prawit said Gen Chaichan, head of the new committee, would announce the investigation result by himself on Wednesday.

It was not known whether the new probe result would satisfy the public, he said.

He said the committee would give details on how the money had been spent and what had been done but would not point out any corrupt practices or who were involved.

Gen Prawit stressed that it was the responsibility if the National Anti-Corruption Commission and the Office of the Auditor General to find out whether there were corrupt practices and who were involved.

Source said Gen Chaichan would hold a press conference at the Defence Ministry on Dec 30 at 1.30pm.

General Prawit is a busy man right now lugging round two of the several millstones around this "Government's" neck, Koh Tao and Rajabhakti.

Hard to see how the Junta can make any forward progress when it has to spend so much time defending the indefensible.

The blame game is not exactly helpful for reconciliation either

The general public knows better and that is more than what the probe reveals. The sad ending is that the military will continue to keep all their dirty secrets and all the corrupted money and nothing the public can do about it.

Timing well you should read up on how and when the Federal Reserve and Income Tax acts were created. Some are questioning whether the IRS is even legal. Makes this look small in comparison.
