NE corner of the moat, couple of doors shy of riders corner.. Is a barber and hair dresser supply shop.. Dont think they have any battery (travel) ones, more the larger styles.

This is a good shop. We take ours there to be sharpened. They are not 300 Baht there but they are imported and high-quality.

If it's the same place I'm thinking of, they sell clippers even cheaper than that.

I purchase a 399 baht Wahl brand about a year ago from Amorn. They still work like new and Ive been very happy with them. I never seen this particular brand any cheaper and notice a lot of the barbers in my area also use this brand.

The kit came with the normal combs, a pair of cheap and nasty sissors, sml oil bottle and sml comb. I brought a pencil case and everything fits nicely into it.

Avoid the cheap, local ones, they are junk. Best off buying imported Wahl. Got mine from the hairdresser supply place just down from Chotana Rd on outer north moat road. Pink place. Around 1500 baht. Still going strong after 5 years, no feed jams. [emoji39]

I've been using mine for 4 years.

Just pull the blades out and oil them every couple of times.

I use m/c rear gearbox oil.

Get 'Babylis for Men' brand. I bought mine from Bang Na Central 9 years ago. My wife gives me a number 3 every month; I'm still on the original blades!

I ended up picking up a Wahl small kit for 649 baht, bag, shaver, oil, guards, combs, cleaner etc.. i saw the one for 349 as well and one for 499 where i was, i liked the looks of the kit... seems to work fine, though I have no previous experience but my friend shaved it for the first time and he has been doing it all his life, said it seems like a good pair

Wahl's are good. If you are going to use it every month? then every 12-18 months take the blades out and drop them off for sharpening at the place mentioned in post #2. That along with regular oiling, they should last you 10+ years.

It takes about 25-35 days to get the blades back from that place. They have a LOT of blades that they sharpen there.

Yep, I bought a really cheap pair about 3 years ago and they still work perfectly. Only time I ever had a problem with them was maybe the 4th or 5th time I used them, when I didn't realise they needed a regular oiling and they jammed momentarily. (I use machine oil, like the type they use on sewing machines, mineral oil I guess it is)
