PATTANI: An automatic telling machine (ATM) of the Bank for Agriculture and Agricultural Cooperatives' Mayo Branch in Pattani province and two cars were damaged in the explosion of a home-made bomb early on Friday. Nobody was hurt, police said.

Pol Lt Col Somchart Sangngern, the duty officer at Mayo police station, led a team of police and soldiers to the bank, whichi is located on Mayo – Palat road after being informed of the blast which occurredat about 2am.

The police said the bomb was laid at the ATM in front of the bank and set to explode at that time. The explosion damaged the ATM and two cars in the area. Nobody was hurt.

The area was then cordoned off to allow bomb disposal police to examine the spot.

It was believed it was the work of insurgents to create unrest.

Or maybe a sloppy robbery attempt? More damage would be caused by throwing the bomb into the bank after breeching the glass front.
